I just use VSCode over ssh for everything outside my local host. The support in Code for ssh is awesome and maintained by Microsoft AFAIK.

- swiley 6y agoThat requires a closed binary which (iirc) you copy automatically to all your remote machines. Encouraging the use of closed dev tools felt weird in 2019 but after 2020 it's IMO irresponsible.
