- mikewarot 6y agoI doubt anyone saw this implication of using "proof of work" as the basis of "proof of stake" in bitcoin. I certainly didn't see it coming. The arbitrage of electricity, something that can't be economically stored and bitcoin, across geopolitical borders is something that's really going to be hard to prohibit on the smaller scale. I really hope the cryptocurrency we all settle on doesn't depend on proof of work, it's worse than using gold or silver, at least the work required to mine a gram of gold or silver is finite.
