I don't really get the framing of questions like this. While the "Covid is just another flu" takes were bad at the beginning, the vaccine is 95% effective at preventing hospitalizations so with it then the "covid is just another flu" take is more than true.
We will probably need an updated shot every year, which will be annoying, but older people will be on top of it and a lot of young people will get it too. If 15% of the US population decides they never want the shot and die because they eventually get it - that sucks but not worth keeping anything closed for them after they've passed.
