One more way to add to the social cooling. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24627363 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24627363 You already have to think about everything you do online. Now you have to think about something you do even if it’s posted for a second. Some service is going to monitor it or one of the archive crusades will snap it up. This was already a concern, but now it’s more apparent. Now we have enterprise level employee monitoring for the internet. None of this is new. It’s just getting worse. I fear for our future generations where they are discovering themselves and happen to post something online over their life journey and it’s immediately snapped up to be used against them later in life. We’ve been talking about this for years. What a shame we’re at this point. One day there will be a revolt to the internet. It will take a while, but it will happen.
