In-the-box, a Dalvik port for iOS that lets Android apps run on iDevices
- mmastrac 15y agoInteresting project, but what are Apple's current views of dynamic interpreters? At one point I know that you couldn't interpret code at all. Has this changed to allow interpretation of code where no additional code is downloaded from the network? BTW: direct link to project: http://www.in-the-box.org/ http://www.in-the-box.org/
- mrseb 15y agoAFAIK, Apple relaxed the restriction on cross-compiled code (Flash-to-iOS) last year. This isn't a dynamic interpreter is it? The Android Java code is compiled, and then inserted into an iOS Dalvik wrapper app. I am not an Apple or Android developer tho', so perhaps I have misunderstood the question.
- comex 15y agoYes, it has: > 3.3.2 An Application may not download or install executable code. Interpreted code may only be used in an Application if all scripts, code and interpreters are packaged in the Application and not downloaded.
- gte910h 15y agoThis should be allowed under the current terms as far as the interpreter part goes. The UI looking non-standard might be a deal killer.
