Dallas Mavericks No Longer Playing National Anthem Before Home Games
- sneak 6y agoThis is commendable. The insane nationalism and nationalistic rituals of the US are impediments to cultural progress and human unity. Now, let's see if we can get them to stop accepting millions of tax dollars from the US military to promote violence as a career. Those military tribute things that football does? They're ads, paid for by DoD.
- smabie 6y agoThe Mavericks play basketball, not football.
- red01 6y agoLooks like it does a fine job of revealing subversive foreigners.
- foolzcrow 6y agoBiden is a war monger if you judge his past votes in office. The war machine is preparing for it's next victim as we speak. All globalists love war. Not a fan of Trump but Biden is well known for selling us out.
- jchallis 6y agoMy employer also does not play the national anthem before I begin work. This is how I like it.
- whack 6y ago> The owner then tweeted two days later, “The National Anthem Police in this country are out of control. If you want to complain, complain to your boss and ask why they don’t play the National Anthem every day before you start work.”
- icefrakker 6y agoFunny how they can do this but when it comes to China they are totally spineless. Funny how Lebron can't say enough about black people but when it comes to Hong Kong he implores people to shut up so he can sell sneakers. Fuck the NBA, fuck Mark Cuban, and fuck all these virtue signallers that have more money than they know what to do with but still can't afford a moral compass when it comes to a genocidal regime.
- throwawayboise 6y agoI'm OK with this. I have nothing against the National Anthem. I don't think it's appropriate to use it as a time for personal political displays, though ultimately people do have that right. I think is disrespectful of those who died to protect that right. That aside, an NBA game is not a competition between national teams. I don't see any obligation outside of tradition to play any national anthems, and not playing it avoids unecessary distractions.
- tracyhenry 6y agoInteresting note: there is one Canadian team - the Toronto Raptors. I've been to a game between Celtics and Raptors, both US and Canada anthems were played.
- tamaharbor 6y agoLuckily no one is making me go to Dallas Mavericks home games.
