Rewatching one of my favorite shows (Arrested Development) was rough. They made "Retard" and "Tranny" jokes left and right.
- peruvian 6y agoForget trans jokes - just typical gay jokes were common until the early 2010s.
- heavyset_go 6y agoThey're still pretty common, at least on Family Guy reruns.
- rukuu001 6y agoAnd the jokes about the Japanese characters as well. They really leaned on the idea that you can get away with insensitive humor as long as it’s delivered by the crass idiot of the show (generally Gob)
- seppin 6y agoI get that Gob was meant to be a "Cartman" like deplorable character but it's still hard to watch. Like saying the n-word in a joking or parody context, still not cool.
