It's an untestable hypothesis, but I've always wondered if anyone would care about Elon Musk if he never got hairplugs.

I just can't imagine him developing a cult personality without it. I think people would think of him more like Ballmer - just kinda crazy.
- dylan604 6y agoYeah, cuz nobody cares about Bezos
- bruceb 6y agoThere was twitter thing a couple weeks ago comparing Tom Brady and a 1970s QB, and how young Brady looked. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/twitter-stunned-by-tom-brady-george-blanda-side-by-side/ar-BB1cCfu3 https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/twitter-stunned-by-to... Yet almost nobody understood that yes Brady has had cosmetic work done, it isn't all natural youth he has. Almost all male celebs have had work done. Same with many older sports and business people, such as Mark Cuban. Combined with photo alteration, very few look as they would if they aged "normally".
- Tarsul 6y agoI think so too. There have been studies that show that more attractive politicians get more votes (just for being more attractive), also attractive people get better jobs/wages. I'd even wager that Trump wouldn't have been president if he would look his age (or had less hair). Same analogy would definitely apply to Musk. There is an inherent quality to looks that hasn't been erased by us being more sophisticated than ever. As much as it's unfair.
