In the past I've theorized people do this for HN comments to track edits.
As a serial edit-until-finally-satisfied poster, I suppose it's nice to know that those edits are taking up terabytes of data in such systems. :)
- mkj 6y agoEventually HN will get hacked (doesn't everyone?) and all the upvotes/downvotes will be revealed too!
