IIRC one of Guido’s reasons for switching to a PEG parser was to enable the addition of pattern matching.
- erichurkman 6y agoAnd it allowed some non-intuitive parser limitations to be lifted, like full expressions in decorators (@buttons[0].click) and parentheses in context expressions (https://bugs.python.org/issue12782 https://bugs.python.org/issue12782).
