- eesmith 6y agoHmm. I think evolution should be more widely known. It seems most people's conception and understanding of the topic is quite different from its actual biological understanding. Eg, the number of people who think that there is a "gene" or biologically selected reason for almost everything, or that evolution has a direction is quite high, and results in erroneous metaphors used as the basis for, for example, policy decisions like "social Darwinism". And I don't know how to understand that topic through my reading of Russell Conjugation.
