To me, it sounds like while its sending the BTC to you and the blockchain is being built/verified, the client somehow puts your wallet.dat in a limbo state wher

To me, it sounds like while its sending the BTC to you and the blockchain is being built/verified, the client somehow puts your wallet.dat in a limbo state where it doesn't have the correct data in it. (I am not 100% how bitcoin works, but that's how I read it)
