Ask HN: Usability, Privacy, Experience of Mega.nz
Today I suddenly get intrigued by all the degoogle articles here and see someone said he migrated to tresorit for storage, at the moment Mega suddenly occured to me, then I search about Mega on HN found that almost no article is about Mega (almost all articles are from 7~8 years ago), this makes me wonder why, and how do you think of Mega.
- ggm 6y agoI use mega solely to download images for my R7000 nighthawk home router because the author chooses to publish the trx files via mega. I also wondered about this risk. I say this because a lot of these services are notoriously used for IPR breaching content: this is a legal, GPL respecting wrt variant. You can download a file and check its integrity. Kim Dotcom lost one of his last legal defences against extradition i believe, and is on a ticking clock.
