What happens when we get into wars over weird minerals no one has heard of, or toxic chemicals leach from solar panels into drinking water? It seems there are harsh tradeoffs in any direction. Your questions are good (better than mine), but I think people are working hard on them with new designs. I like nuclear because it is low waste and seems more amenable to longer term planning. It also seems easier to defend and less reliant on trading for a vast array of minerals...and it seems we have better solutions for what we are going to do with the waste.
