- fireball_blaze 6y agoFrom another article on this topic: "But at about 1:30 p.m. the same day, Gualtieri said, someone accessed the system again. This time, he said, the operator watched as someone took control of the mouse, directed it to the software that controls water treatment, worked inside it for three to five minutes and increased the amount of sodium hydroxide from 100 parts per million to 11,100 parts per million." https://www.tampabay.com/news/pinellas/2021/02/08/someone-tried-to-poison-oldsmars-water-supply-during-hack-sheriff-says/ https://www.tampabay.com/news/pinellas/2021/02/08/someone-tr...
- pvaldes 6y agoJust speculating about this strange event... I wonder if this is related with the fact that COVID-19 can be released in human faeces. Maybe the real purpose of the hacker was trying to sterilize the pipes instead to poison somebody?. Maybe trying to force everybody their own version of the chlorine dioxide myth after losing some relative?. Nobody knows
- pvaldes 6y agoUpdated: severely caustic. Could have done a lot of damage and inner burns to a lot of people if not disclosed. Basically the same as making people to drink bleach. Why everybody wants people to drink bleach lately? Seems more like either terrorism or, being charitable, an excuse to cleaning pipes after a leak of waste water inside the water supply. If the first case, I bet that some Qanon loony will upload the event in video to internet. If the second case the actor would be (probably) close to who discovered it.
