>Your complaints are entirely anecdotal, meanwhile it's very easy to point at empirical data showing how women are treated poorly.
Show me the data for this specific case of horizontal movement in engineering organizations for women and you have an argument that can change my view.
>If you actually want to call yourself a legitimate feminist you should spend more time listening and learning. It might make you actually feel silly to complain about how men are treated in tech.
I am listening and learning. Show me your data. <-- that is literally a call for you to prove your points so that I can "listen and learn"
>I'm saying what's the point of even keeping score when the odds are so stacked against women.
Who's keeping score? I'm just bringing up one specific case of unfair treatment. I never tried to turn this into a battle of "which sex is treated more unfairly"
- carlisle_ 6y agoYou wanna get educated go educate yourself. I'm frankly pretty disgusted by your posts and don't have the patience to educate somebody who is stubborn and unwilling to consider other perspectives.
- nadllik 6y agoHow am I stubborn. I'm literally asking you to show me evidence. I am allowing you to present your perspective with evidence.
- Geminidog 6y agoCarlisle I don't know if you're going to read this. Before I met you I truly believed in equal opportunities for both sexes. I also believed that men and women have different advantages when it comes to gender and that both sexes utilize these advantages for unfair gain and that was just the reality of the unfair world we live in. You have changed my view. I am no longer a feminist. You have changed my view. I now believe that women don't deserve equal opportunity and must be suppressed by men because of their lack of ability to reason. Just remember one thing. Men built all the civilization, technology and government you see around you today and women can utilize all of these benefited because men give them permission. If one day all men decided to end womens rights there is no force on earth that can stop it. Women's rights exist because you have permission from men to have those rights and those rights are enforced by men. Your rights exist based off of how many men support your rights. Guess what. Thanks to you. You lost me. I no longer support equal rights. I won't support the rights of a sex that doesn't actively support mine as well. You have created an a new enemy here. I have real influence in the company I own and will now be slowly transitioning out the few women who hold engineering roles. I will be using the same techniques that private universities use to take affirmative action against non white people so no laws will be broken here. Frankly the liability that feminists have to offer my company aren't worth the risk thanks to you giving me a new assessment and outlook on the whole situation.
