It'd be interesting to see a JavaScript-like language with syntactic support for monads (do and friends) - seems like it would enable better abstractions for a lot of this type of thing.
There's LambdaScript (https://github.com/valderman/lambdascript https://github.com/valderman/lambdascript) of course, but from the README it doesn't look like it's something you want to use at the moment..
