The “Florida Covid-19 Whistleblower” Saga Is a Big Lie
- aweiland 6y ago...says a right wing newsletter with little credibility.
- jimmygrapes 6y agoAttack the message if you desire, not the source. I have never heard of this website either, but the linked article contains a bevy of references - which, unlike outfits such as the Washington Post (for example), are external and often primary sources, rather than other articles written by the same opinion contributor.
- aweiland 6y agoOh sure, as character assassination pieces go this one is well put together. The problem is some of those sources are ancient at this point (See the May 27th article subtitled "Florida has proven that a measured, evidence-based response to reopening works." Narrator: It didn't work). Another article comparing death rates in NY (early COVID) to death rates in FL (later COVID) was published in early July, just as FL rates were about to go through the roof. So on their face, as you pointed at, it looks well sourced. However a quick check of the references shows the whole thing is built on a house of cards.
- HappySweeney 6y agoEven if it's a lie, it isn't a "Big Lie", which has a specific meaning, so the author is either incompetent (not likely - she has a BA in History from USC) or deceptive. That being said, Rebekah's arrest history (no mention of convictions?) was relevant to the raid story, and I don't recall seeing that mentioned at the time.
