I am a china hater, but this thing smells just like the "WMDs in Iraq". Been seeing lotsa pieces recently on the net about the Uighur/china issue, looks like they are building a case just like the WMDs
- Koiwai 6y agoYeah, I'm Chinese and I hate my government, but please do it for the right reason.
- blablabla123 6y agoThere exists quite dense information about this on credible news sources, YouTube, Reddit. (WMDs in Iraq was found to be a hoax just by googling.) Also I've once met backpackers who got imprisoned for practically no reason in exactly that area. Apart from the Xinjiang issue, the Chinese government has also a quite well-documented recent history of putting individuals into reeducation centers. I don't think this is about hating China anyway but taking on a critical stand towards Chinese (government) policy which is well compatible with an admiration for Chinese culture, if that makes any sense...
- ngc248 6y agobut is there really genocide (killing populations on a large scale) happening?
- hkmaxpro 6y agoYes, genocide is happening. From the Genocide Convention of 1948: [0] > Article II > In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: > (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; > (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. Both (d) [1][2] and (e) [3][4] happen to Uighurs in Xinjiang. - dvfjsdhgfv 6y ago> I am a china hater What does it even mean? China is a huge country, what exactly do you hate - over one billion people, its various countrysides, what? The Chinese are normal people, like you and me. They work, they have families, they have joys and sorrows the same as we do. The only difference is that they are more controlled by their government and are less free to express what they feel. They have some extraordinary minds, very old and rich culture, and many people I know are truly wonderful and I have some very good friends there. The Chinese government, though, it's a different monster. But still, I can't understand how one can introduce oneself as "China hater".
