I imagine why would Ubuntu developers do it like that: to 'fix' the 'broken' build systems which do not respect CFLAGS.

    None. But for the lazy package manager, this route is easier.

      They should do their job regardless, but I’d place all bets on CMakeLists.txt. With two decades of experience, only this one I can read and get fucking nothing of it.
