But are employees not representatives of the company? Particularly when:
- they’re in an employee group
- wearing company branded clothing (an assumption, but likely for at least some)
- the event is during work hours, or after work drinks
It seems commonsense that these employees would understand this, and if not, it’s the kind of thing that HR makes very clear.
It’s unclear to me who you would expect the restaurant owner to hold accountable if not, these employees, and as representatives of their employer, Tesla Austin.

These guys went out of their way to maliciously attack my business because they were drinking, entitled and refused to follow the rules that EVERYONE else has to follow if they want to enter our business. They stayed for over three hours, got warned multiple times and we had to kick them out. Then they went home and review bombed us... not one guy, but multiple people." https://www.reddit.com/r/Austin/comments/le2tfg/to_all_the_tesla_employees_please_check_your_ego/gm9b38m/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Austin/comments/le2tfg/to_all_the_t...
- ALittleLight 6y agoI expect the restaurant owner to hold accountable the people who've done wrong, not the company they might work for, unless they were there on company business. If you're obnoxious at a restaurant it makes sense to get banned from that restaurant. Doesn't make sense to get your employer involved. Also, this is a one sided allegation of bad behavior that is wholly unsubstantiated. This is anonymous maligning of Tesla's reputation.
