I thought of ADRs too, but it seems the objective here is to be a bit more high level. It doesn’t help that the term “architecture” is so wide in meaning. I’ve adopted ADRs and it has been good for decision making, but it doesn’t help much new contributors to find exactly what module they need to focus on for a task.
