In addition Tesla used a cheap eMMC with a limited number of write cycles. Tesla did reduce the excessive logging and even implemented a notification when the car suspects it is failing. I think they even extended the warranty, but of course reducing the logging will push some failures outside of the warranty period. This recall thankfully fixes this problem permanently for those who could be affected.
