For goodness sake, why don’t we (humanity) turn the mining process around and tie it to CO2 sequestration instead of energy consumption?
- gus_massa 6y agoBecause the current mining process can be verified automatically, and also is the trick to ensure the blockchain is not altered. If you mine sequestering CO2, you must make an official committee that goes to each mining facility and verify that they are not laying. So you don't have decentralization, and it's easier to just have the transactions in a database instead of a blockchain.
