Is an $800 purifier best to clean your home's air? Marketplace tested top
- voisin 6y agoAmazing how tightly they cluster around the box fan and MERV filter, except for the $400 one.
- nickthegreek 6y agoI recently purchased the wirecutter winner and have been very happy with it. I ended up picking up a $50 levoit for the bedroom as well. https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-air-purifier/ https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-air-purifier...
- airhead969 6y agoI'll put away my Blueair 680i Classic with a CADR of 934 m^3/hr (550 CFM) before it hurts Dyson's feelings. Someone could buy 3 211+'s rather than a 680i, but they'd take up 3x the volume, use more electricity, cause more noise (although the 680i is moderately loud on speed 3), have more filters to buy (3x $80 vs. 1x $105), and not integrate with smart home platforms (if you don't need this, the 605 is basically the same as the 680i). For 700 sq ft / 65 m^2 areas, the 680i is the better deal and filters better than the 211+. I put a couple of logging Plantower PMS5003 + Arduinos on top of mine and relocated around to confirm, and found it was producing air below detectable levels of PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10.0. IOW, damn clean air. Maybe not viruses or all bacteria, but it will filter out essentially all fungi.
