Pretty much. This is how my React ProseMirror integration works: https://github.com/dminkovsky/use-prosemirror/blob/main/src/ProseMirror.tsx https://github.com/dminkovsky/use-prosemirror/blob/main/src/.... Though there are some complexities. I believe CodeMirror would be the same.
