Should Linux be called GNU/Linux instead?
- notkaiho 6y agoI thought we'd hashed this out about 20 years ago and Stallman et al had retreated back to their basic-HTML caves to think about other things.
- okareaman 6y agoAmerica gets its name from Amerigo Vespucci, but he set foot on South America centuries after Leif Erikson set foot on North America. Please start calling America Erica.
- Aeronwen 6y agoYou mean Leica. We call it America from the first name, not Vespa from the last. And give Red Hat a few more years, and you won't need either GNU or Linux to describe the OS.
- simonblack 6y agoYes. But we lazy people always abbreviate words. How long is it since you heard somebody say 'facsimile machine' instead of 'fax machine'?
