AWS Cheat Sheets
- maliker 6y agoI'm a big fan of cheatsheets. Not so much as a reference, but as a learning resource to edit and record the subset of commands that I need. It's worked pretty well for me for regexes, pandas, etc.
- llarsson 6y agoGood site! Starts off on a rather high level, but also features detailed step-by-step instructions for accomplishing certain tasks. Well done, whoever made it!
- reddit_clone 6y agoI can't highlight anything with my mouse on the site. I obsessively highlight passages when I am reading on a web page. Why would they block that?
- Rychard 6y agoThey also block middle mouse button clicks, preventing me from smoothly panning down the page. At least with Firefox, "Reader View" appears to circumvent this restriction.
- kylegalbraith 6y agoI suspect this might be some crude attempt at blocking copy and paste, but maybe I'm wrong.
- jrodthree24 6y agoYup. Can't right click, highlight, anything. For something targeted at developers, I wonder why anyone would waste their time. Anyone with basic knowledge of webdev could rip the entire site if they wanted to.
- tyingq 6y agoNot the same thing, but these drawings are helpful for me to get a quick glance idea of what various AWS services really are: https://www.awsgeek.com/ https://www.awsgeek.com/
- totaldude87 6y agoThis looks fantastic, thank you for sharing this!
- pwinnski 6y agoFantastic, thank you!
- totaldude87 6y agoAlso , they have a few videos available at https://portal.tutorialsdojo.com/ https://portal.tutorialsdojo.com/ --> under all courses and ebooks. AWS trainings --> https://portal.tutorialsdojo.com/product-category/aws/aws-digital-courses-2/ https://portal.tutorialsdojo.com/product-category/aws/aws-di... Disclosure - though this may look like am promoting this site, I have zero relations with anything related to the site, apart from liking the site!
- pratio 6y agoI am sorry to say but the design and implementation are horrible. You can't call something a cheat sheet when you've blocked copy paste and clicks. If it was meant to be helpful in any way it should be possible to click and create a pdf of the entire thing or make it a proper git repository. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. - totaldude87 6y agohear , hear! for adding a free video, i have to go through entire checkout process! Still , appreciate their free quality content!
- ravenstine 6y agoIt amazes me that there are some people who still think they can pull off the "no one can copy this" game with web content. It's like... your audience is engineers; they are the ones whom know how to copy your crap whether you like it or not, and now you've pissed them off by pretending you can stop them from doing so.
- pwinnski 6y agoThese are terrible! The function of a cheat sheet is to provide information in a format that's better than reading a standard webpage. EVery one of the cheatsheets I clicked on would have been better as a standard webpage. The only Lambda references appear to be in a side-by-side comparison with EC2, which is not helpful for anyone working with lambdas. Just bad.
- isbvhodnvemrwvn 6y agoIt's useful mostly for cramming for AWS certification. One of the guys who runs this sells pretty accurate mock tests. There's a whole lot of people with next to no experience in operations or development who have a set of AWS certificates thanks to sites like this (and cheap udemy courses).
- avi_vallarapu 6y agoI thought the comparison is going to show some true differences but not a Marketing material. How does the Author quantify that Aurora is 5 times faster than RDS ? Maybe, the author adds some true comparison such as - Aurora recommends you to Decrease your number of transactions and rather do more volume in lesser number of transactions if you see this wait_event : IO_XactSync which is only observed in Aurora. This is because, Aurora waits on CPU to perform a Storage Persistence Check. And some more other differences such as Aurora and RDS does not let you created FDWs to any other databases other than Postgres itself. No Oracle_FDW etc.
