The HP Reverb G2 has exceptional resolution that basically eliminates screen door effect. I think the bigger challenge is not screen resolution but lenses. The G2 has quite a narrow sweetspot so although the centre of your vision is basically monitor quality and text looks perfect, the quality drops off towards the edges so it doesn't really work for reading where you want to scan left to right with eye movement. It does work well for simulations where moving your head is a more natural way to look around.
