A Southern plantation owner in the pre Civil War southeast US had something they liked and didn't want to give up and it was most certainly very very bad.
- arcticbull 6y agoUBI is universal, everyone gets it. I’d wager if you asked slaves if they were enjoying it they’d say no. One of the many problems is they weren’t being asked.
- bumby 6y agoI think the counterpoint is that, while everybody receives the same amount, people contribute differing levels so the net benefit is very different for individuals. I think this is an affront to some people's ideas of fairness even though it aligns with progressive tax schemes.
