I had the HoloLens first edition for a good few days in the past. It was cool to be able to work, and put a second monitor on the wall behind my workstation. The games were also cool, generating levels around my apartment. The only downsides that really stick out to me (this was a few years ago) was the low resolution, and the heft.
Apple seems to place this as a mix between a HoloLens and a VR headset. They have the silicon to integrate the processing into the headset (like an oculus). I’m curious where it will go. I currently enjoy my Index, with my main wish for it to be wireless!
Two 8k pixels is a ton of data. I’m not to optimistic everything will be running at that resolution. I wonder if they have some fancy upscale tech (like DLSS)? Or if the idea is to do video passthrough?
