He's not working in drug manufacturing but in research. The details of these machines will be trade secrets.
The pun in my statement was that Mr. Derek Lowe is writing a popular series of blog postings on dangerous chemicals. It is called "Things I Won't Work With".

- jancsika 6y agoSo here's the unambiguous version of my original question: Why are we guessing about trade secrets in a pandemic? Seems to me that an advanced society would have the sense to say that while trade secrets are obviously an important part of the economy, in the case of a global pandemic we can suspend them specifically for the design specs of the bottleneck in vaccine production.
