I use RSS for everything, especially on mobile. Every blog I follow, every news source, every video channel (YouTube or otherwise) I follow using RSS or Atom. My reader (feeder, a FOSS feed reader for android) is my morning paper. If a site serving recurring content does not have an RSS or Atom feed, I do not subscribe. If a feed truncates content and forces me to open the article in browser I do not subscribe. If I'm trying to read what you have to say or watch your video or listen to you, I do not need to load a complex web UI to do it. I do not need an account just to follow what you want me to hear or read.
