Absolutely embarrassing. Are we seriously at a point now where we can't have a George Washington or Abraham Lincoln High School?
What's next? Renaming our nation's Capital?
- jwalton 6y agoI’m not American, so please excuse if this is an ignorant question - didn’t Lincoln abolish slavery? What did he do to get his name taken off of schools?
- jariel 6y agoHe would have preferred that the emancipated slaves return to Africa. You can believe slavery is an abomination, while at the same time have views which might widely be considered racist even by today's most colloquial standards. That said, this is beyond ridiculous. There might be something to all of this, but the manner in which it is conducted: underhanded, without popular support, is indicative of the authoritarian tendencies of these groups. - TedDoesntTalk 6y agoSome people want a peaceful revolution which, after completed, will have America the same only in name... until it’s found that the word America itself is also offensive.
