Just to swim against the current a little: There were some Egyptian pyramids that are well recorded to have been built with at least some slave labor. Just not the great pyramids, which people usually think about when the word pyramid is mentioned. While the great pyramids are the largest of their kind, and the most iconic, they were not the last. The last tomb or cenotaph in the shape of a pyramid was possibly built as late as a thousand years after the great pyramids had been finished.
During that thousand years of pyramid construction, some of the monuments were recorded to have used slave labor for construction. Notably, the Annals of Amenemhat II record of a expedition into the levant where two towns were destroyed and the survivors were brought back into Egypt and put to work building the White Pyramid.
