Stimulus checks to low income Disabled who may be getting Both SSDI and SSI(Because their SSDI Soc Sec Disability checks from covered work history are not enough to meet the Federal Poverty Level) is putting folks at risk of going over the asset limits.
Folks getting any sort of SSI/State SSI have a limit of $2000 emergency bank account/accounts savings limit that has not been raised since the late 1980s! And that limit has not kept up with the rate of inflation and really that Limit needs to be redone to factor in Inflation since the late 1980s!
A singe root-canal and Crown will easily run above $2000 and really the Savings/Assets limits for Low Income Disabled folks and low income retired Elderly need some rapid Congressional Action! And all this current stimulus is coming in and folks will have a year to spend that back down. But most low income disabled/retired people need that Federal Asset limit raised so folks can save for dental/health procedures that are costly even when using a dental School to do the work as the materials still cost money for things like crowns and bridge work.
