The stated reason for this bill is a bald-faced lie. The bear population in CA has been exploding. A good overview of the bill here: https://www.outdoorlife.com/story/hunting/california-black-bear-hunting-ban-threat-hunters-and-wildlife-management/ https://www.outdoorlife.com/story/hunting/california-black-b... Even more galling, is that this is being sponsored by the humane society, who's goal is to end hunting of all types, a little bit at a time. They've sponsored legislation in all states and at the federal level. They should lose their non-profit status. EDIT: Disclaimer, I'm from WI, not CA.
