I maintain a set of libraries in Go for XMPP (Jabber) and related technologies, https://mellium.im/ https://mellium.im/. While XMPP is still probably the most widely used federated instant messaging network (Matrix is the Internet's darling, but the sheer number of XMPP clients and servers is significantly higher, and even though Google and Facebook may have ditched it it's still widely used commercially and is pretty much the defacto standard in video game chat) so I believe it's an important piece of infrastructure that needs to exist in the Go ecosystem. Also I just wanna chat with my buddies and didn't like any of the TUI clients I've used very much.
