A great tool for screen recording with wl-roots is
wf-recorder (https://github.com/ammen99/wf-recorder https://github.com/ammen99/wf-recorder)
for example:
wf-recorder --audio -f video_$(date +%F).mp4 --geometry $(slurp)
lets me select a region of my screen via slurp and then records my microphone and the screen area
to the specified file.
