We're hiring junior, senior and "lead" embedded software engineers (among plenty of other types of engineers) at Zipline.
I've been here almost 5 years and it's been absolutely great. To quote my coworker the other day, "this is the best place I've ever worked, and I've worked at 14 companies. Well, okay, GoPro during IPO was pretty crazy. It's the second best place. Out of 14."
So yeah, come help us make cool autonomous delivery drones a real thing. Mention hacker news when you submit something on the careers page, and I'll make sure your info gets routed my way.
- the_pwner224 6y agoI'm interested in applying for a junior embedded software engineer position. I'll be graduating from college in the beginning of May, but have experience with embedded development both from class projects as well as stuff I've done in my free time, so I think I would be qualified for a junior position. And Zipline seems like a company that I want to work at. But there aren't any junior roles listed on the careers page. Should I just submit an application for the Senior Embedded Systems Software Engineer position and mention this?
- sgtnoodle 6y agoHuh, that's weird. They don't usually let me talk to people, so I'm not sure what the best workaround is there. :-p I'd say go ahead and trust your instincts and be clear about it.

- Connie_Hyman 6y agoAny remote positions for a junior?
- sgtnoodle 6y agoIt's not something that we hire for specifically, but rather work out on a case-by-case basis. Working remotely generally makes one's job more difficult, and for someone starting out their career, it could be a large hindrance to succeeding in the role. Some people are good at working remotely, though. With COVID, most people are working from home most of the time. Working on embedded hardware, though, often times requires access to hardware and expensive equipment.
- Connie_Hyman 6y agoThanks for your reply. Sounds like a great position. Of course, everything in your reply makes perfect sense. :)
