I did an exhaustive search and tried them all. The answer is Vornado Evap40. Can easily dump 2 gallons in half a day. Nothing even comes close. Key is moderate negative air pressure. Operating cost is higher than most but well worth it.
- DVassallo 6y agoWhy is negative air pressure important?
- Anarch157a 6y agowater evaporates more easily at lower pressures. That's why at very high elevations, you need a pressure cooker to cook most foods properly.
- superseeplus 6y agoIf you are sensitive to noise, try the Vornado EVDC lineup. It is smart enough to run the fan at the lowest speed required to maintain the set humidity.
- hehehaha 6y agoI found hygrometers on these machines to be not so accurate. It hardly matters in my use case because even maxed out at 4 gallons per day, it barely keeps up during winter heating months.
