There is at least one non-stimulant drug that can be prescribed (atomoxetine), but it doesn't work for a lot of people (including me).
- petercooper 6y agoI found atomoxetine only mildly useful and the side effects (slight increase in blood pressure) to bother me enough to stop using it. However, I want to mention modafinil (particularly as no-one else has mentioned it in this discussion). It has worked for me and there is evidence to its effectiveness as a non-stimulant medication for ADHD - https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11191692/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11191692/ - although it's technically an off-label use.
