From what I gather, Apple has been using IDFA since 2012. It's baked into the OS and Apple generates the ID. It was enabled by default. Before IDFA, Apple used UDID. My question is why did the privacy focused Apple ever include such a thing in the first place? They provided the tools. Others, like FB, used it and were profiting.
