The main question to these type of assertions, what's the alternative?
There are natural patterns in business problems, so there are natural patterns in solutions, which can be encapsulated in best practices.
Companies don't have the time or resources or development skills to come up with elegant, boutique solutions to every problems. Even FAANG companies with billions of dollars to throw at problems hit a natural wall.
So, they resort to proven best practices to solve most problems. It's wise for smaller companies to analyze proven best practices and incorporate them as needed.

We don't see people say "Singletons or GTFO!", we have a toolbox that we apply to problems as needed. "Best" practice implies there is one and only one "correct" way to do things. "Good practice" would be a better term.
