In the early 2000’s my school had some type of novel system. It would periodically log in and run some type of scheduled task without starting the desktop, just initiating a small window that said something like "updating profiles". you could right click the window and open the windows help window, right click that window and get a file browser from which you could run whatever you wanted. As a kid not knowing much about computers I thought that was so cool. I managed to "hack" and bypass the login. What a piece of shit software that thing was.
