- londons_explore 6y agoUnless that filesystem sometimes doesn't align writes (NTFS), uses copy on write (btrfs), uses compression, raid, encryption, sometimes rewrites old unallocated data (Linux kernel page cache) etc. To me this whole thing seems like a massive layer violation which will cause ossification of filesystems. Future Microsoft:. "We can't deploy upgrades to the FAT driver because the new order of writing partial sectors breaks U2F"
