My only question is: was using a JS framework really necessary for such a simple website?

Maybe it wasn't necessary but the author obviously has a personal reason to do so which is completely valid

This site is literally broken with disabled JS. But since every single person seems to have a personal reason to do this, then I guess it's fine.

I’m sure the author would welcome your patches to fix it
