This article leaves out that fact that new White House orders now also "require masks in places under federal jurisdiction — namely airports, ships, buses between cities, trains, federal courthouses and federal lands." https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/post-tribune/ct-ptb-biden-mask-exec-order-st-0128-20210127-y2z5t4diyje6hi7n3etrseri3y-story.html https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/post-tribune/ct-ptb-b...

This seems like it could be a big new direction: The Pentagon is considering sending active-duty troops to large, federally run coronavirus vaccine centers, a major departure for the department and the first significant sign that the Biden administration is moving to take more control of a program that states are struggling to manage. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/28/us/politics/coronavirus-fema-pentagon-vaccines.html https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/28/us/politics/coronavirus-f...

The weirdest thing is, this is absolutely the opposite of what Politico reported this morning (in a story headlined "‘It’s a mess’: Biden’s first 10 days dominated by vaccine mysteries ") After a week on the job, Biden’s team is still trying to locate upwards of 20 million vaccine doses that have been sent to states — a mystery that has hampered plans to speed up the national vaccination effort. They're searching for new ways to boost production of a vaccine stockpile that they've discovered is mostly empty. And they're nervously eyeing a series of new Covid-19 strains that threaten to derail the response. “It’s the Mike Tyson quote: ‘Everybody’s got a plan until they get punched in the mouth,’” said one person with knowledge of the vaccine effort who’s not authorized to discuss the work. https://www.politico.com/news/2021/01/30/biden-covid-vaccine-states-463953 https://www.politico.com/news/2021/01/30/biden-covid-vaccine...

“Top Trump officials actively lobbied Congress to deny state governments any extra funding for the Covid-19 vaccine rollout last fall — despite frantic warnings from state officials that they didn’t have the money they needed to ramp up a massive vaccination operation,” Stat News reports. https://www.statnews.com/2021/01/31/trump-officials-lobbied-to-deny-states-money-for-vaccine-rollout/ https://www.statnews.com/2021/01/31/trump-officials-lobbied-...
