- jfengel 6y agoOne possibility: the most effective vaccines were able to produce data first. They're operating under unusual rules, doing trials and announcing data much earlier than they otherwise would. If they all started at the same time, the ones that were most effective would have demonstrable results first. If that's the case, you'd expect them to come out roughly in order of effectiveness.
- drocer88 6y agoBloomberg points this out: "particularly effective at stopping severe disease, preventing 85% of severe infections and 100% of hospitalizations and deaths" ( https://finance.yahoo.com/news/j-j-single-dose-vaccine-130459221.html https://finance.yahoo.com/news/j-j-single-dose-vaccine-13045... ). "Based on the result, J&J plans to file for an emergency-use authorization in the U.S. in early February. The drug giant’s top scientist said this month that he expects a clearance in March, and that it would have product ready to ship then."
