Facebook Said to Consider Suing Apple over App Store Practices
- strict9 6y ago> Apple, which has made privacy a key tenet, prefers that consumers pay for their internet experience, leaving less need for advertisers. In contrast, Facebook relies on data about its users to fuel its digital advertising business. There is the law, and then there is the court of public opinion. This (potential) lawsuit seems like revenge for denying FBs access to fingerprint/track/identify/sell everything about you. And such a case would spill out a lot details for the public to see. Kind of surprised they would lean this way.
- Jkvngt 6y agoAre there still Facebook users in 2021? Let alone people naive enough to install their shady app?
- newfeatureok 6y agoYes
- Jkvngt 6y agoI guess plenty of people installed Bonzi Buddy too, so this isn’t very surprising.
- spery 6y agoYou don't have Instagram? All their apps should be treated the same.
- Jkvngt 6y agoI don't own a cell phone. I ordered a Librem 5 a couple years ago, it'll be my first one. I just don't like the idea of hauling around a GovCorp tracking pod with me.
- toper-centage 6y agoThen hopefully you understand you're not the average Internet user. Not needing a smartphone in 2021 is a privilege, not a sacrifice.
